Through meditation we are trying to achieve balance. Balance in the mind, between the right and left brain activity, balance in our emotions, balance in our physical body.
The four elements represent a very nice reminder of this and are very easy to incorporate into your every day life. If you already have a preferred meditation space, then you can enhance the energy of the place by putting symbols of four elements in the room and/ or something that represent each element:
– fire (south direction), can be represented by candles;
– water (west direction) can be represented by a water fountains or bowl with water;
– air (east direction) can be represented by scent sticks;
– earth (north direction) can be represented by rocks, crystals, gemstones, clay pottery.
Put those symbols in the correct corners of you meditation room or your altar, they help to anchor four elements’ energy to your sacred space and those energies will build up every day as you build up your energy.
